Artists Proof Collection

Reserved for David's personal use and display in museums, gallery showings, and conservation events. Sold to collectors on a limited basis. Each piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. The Artist Proof Collection is the first Proof Print, then limited to an additional 10% of the "Signature Series - Limited Edition Collection."

Signature Series - Limited Edition Collection

This collection contains many images that have won awards on the Local, State, or National Stage. Each print is hand signed and numbered with a certificate of authenticity. Canvas, Metal, Acrylic, and Museum Acrylic have their own numbered series allowing a broad spectrum of price points so all can enjoy Davids lenscraft.

Open Edition Collection
Prints from the Open Edition Collection have a low price point and are not restricted to a specific number of prints. This collection is never numbered, but the print may be signed upon request.

Art Materials and Finishes

  • Museum Acrylics - The Ultimate in Photographic Art:

Chromogenic Prints (C Prints) feature continuous tones using actual photographic paper without the dots used in inkjet printing. All Museum Acrylics are in the "Limited Edition Collection - Signature Series." Each C Print is hand-signed and numbered, then laminated using museum-quality acrylic with glass-like clarity. The result is labor-intensive and time-consuming, involving multiple stages. Chromogenic Prints have a three-dimensional backlit look and museum quality with a process based on film emulsion using modern dark room wet bath development and processing. The art pieces made from this process represent the pinnacle of my Lens Craft. The process and equipment are labor intensive with multiple steps, but the result will blow you away!

Regular Acrylic -  A less expensive (second surface printing) acrylic at a lower price with high quality.

Metal (Aluminum): Color vibrancy is one of the main characteristics of metal prints. Images are incredibly sharp, vivid, and eye-catching. Aluminum is infused with ink under heat using a "Dye Sublimation Process." Metal art is ideal for modern, contemporary, and minimalist rooms because of its sleek line. Choose a high gloss or non glare Matte finish. The image is fused to a robust aluminum frame for easy hanging.

Canvas: Canvas prints are known for their "painterly" quality. Canvas has texture, which diffuses and absorbs light, resulting in a "no glare" image. The printing process uses archival ink (formerly called a Giclee print). The image is wrapped on a high-quality wood frame or encased with a wood frame of your color choice. The canvas is sprayed with a UV protectant to protect from damaging light and extend life.

Loose Prints: Sometimes, a client simply prefers a large fine art print that can be custom-matted and framed to match the decor. Buyers of my products may receive discounts at "Right Angle Framing," located at 1240 Iron Horse Drive in Park City, Utah. Please speak directly with Ed, who is the owner. Phone 435-649-3640

Loose print options:

.Luster & Matte: these are traditional non-glossy papers with a fine grain texture, a slight sheen, and exceptional sharpness.

. Glossy is a highly reflective image with eye-popping dark tones and vibrant colors.

. Art papers For a “painterly and artistic look” consider Ilford Gold Fibre Silke, Hahnemuhle Photo Rag (Baryta), Moab Juniper Rag (Baryta), watercolor and textured papers.

Scene Below

I am signing images that have completed a multi-step old-fashioned wet bath development of Fuji Flex Silver Gelatin large format paper. I inspect each image for perfection, then sign and number each print. The image is then laminated in Museum Acrylic and a hardwood frame is built to support the art piece so it “floats off the wall”.

Competition History

Since the start of my business over 20 years ago, one of my goals has been to set myself apart from my peers and gain recognition in the professional community through competition and formal training. Art judges and juries from galleries and museums often evaluate art without considering the artist's identity. Embracing criticism and learning from failures has been essential for my artistic growth. I have achieved success in various competitions, earning both international and local awards after many years of competition. Many clients prefer investing in artwork created by an award-winning artist. When judging photographic art, judges assess various elements such as impact, technical excellence, creativity, style, composition, presentation, color balance, center of interest, lighting, subject matter, technique, and storytelling. Competition is very expensive and time-consuming, but worth the journey. I have a lot to learn and enjoyed my photographic journey.
